Primum Non Nocere

The admonition Primum Non Nocere means, 'First Do No Harm’. This is a guiding tenet for all health care professionals. It is inclusive of the myriad individuals in many widely divergent fields. Likewise, this tapestry is composed of numerous medical symbols indicating the complexity necessary for each practicing professional to provide their optimal coordinated service in the best fashion possible.

Presently there are two major obvious concerns in health care: The Covid 19 Pandemic and the Opioid Crisis. Both may relate to this topic. In part, the opioid crisis may be due to injudicious prescriptions. The severity of the Pandemic invites the use of unproven remedies, which actually may be harmful. Less obvious are financial incentives. Unfortunately, these may include completely unnecessary procedures.

This work is an attempt to thank all of the practitioners who do their best, and avoid misleading and detrimental therapies. It is necessary for our society to trust them and their judgment.
