Mal de Mer

Mal de Mer emphasizes the degradation of our marine environment. Hurricanes, dying reef, decimated marine life, and sea level rise are major concerns, but pollution, oil spills, the red tide, over fishing, and reef destruction are of great importance as well. Fish are innocent bystanders, unlike much of humanity, who is both innocent and guilty. There are walls, ladders, and many more mechanical lines than round organic shapes. These are ocean’s screams for help, which island communities hear more clearly than anyone else. We must be sure that they are heard by the rest of humanity.
