TAOthings is a small independent design studio and online stationery shop, launched in March 2023 (and on Etsy since August 2023), devoted to the love of collecting stationery and journaling supplies.

TAOthings Studio's designs spring from my lifelong fascination with the pursuit of inner peace and well-being. I strive to fill with my creations with a sense of whimsy, curiosity, and wonder.  And I like to import designer stationery that promotes joy & creativity.

TAO is pronounced [ dou ], as in Taoism, but also is an acronym for "the adventures of," as in the stationery stuff that inspires our adventures on paper.

Modern life seems designed to drum us to into a state of constant anxiety and insecurity. For me, visual journaling is a refuge and sanctuary, making space for quiet reflection. And it's a way of practicing mindfulness, while celebrating what is beautiful and ephemeral in each unfolding day. Stationery art is one of my favorite ways to quiet emotional gremlins (anxiety, discouragement, etc.) and pause to enjoy to the present moment. I hope that my designs may add to calm and cheerfulness in your busy days.
