Throughout my life, many things have made me the person I am today. To me, the biggest influence on my life is my Dad. My Dad has taught me many lessons throughout my life, such as what it means to be authentic to yourself, how to take responsibility for your actions, and the importance of the people you surround yourself with. From these lessons, I have gained an understanding of what lessons hockey can teach a person as well. Dealing with adversity and being thrown into a new community; such as a hockey team, has helped me to build a me a new support system and has made me understand the growth that comes with the game. Along with each of these experiences, these are some of the make ups of my identity -
I am from Littleton, Colorado
My first Language is English
My ethnicity is White
Each of these play a role in the way I view and interact with the world. Coming from this background having such experiences shapes my perception of everything, and it is important to acknowledge that perception.
