TANGO IN MAREMMA

From 8th to 15th August, 7 days of holiday immersed in the enchanting Tuscany Maremma, for the 17th year!

We will be guests in a villa surrounded by nature, completely dedicated to the tango group, a truly suggestive and welcoming place

We will enjoy our holiday relaxing in the crystal-clear saltwater pool and on the lawns, strolling through hills and vineyards, visiting villages and cities rich in art and history such as Siena or Montalcino, bathing in the thermal baths of Saturnia or San Filippo, exploring Monte Amiata or the beautiful and wild beaches of the Uccellina park, tasting Tuscan specialities and enjoying the excellent cuisine offered by the villa with organic and local products.

And of course, we will dance tango!

COSTS and REGISTRATION

TANGO: COST OF THE CLASSES PER PERSON:

All the Argentine tango classes (2 hours a day, for 7 days)  + evening practices: 200 euros

The tango holiday is reserved to Essentia/Faitango members, holders of Faitango 2026 card. If you are not a member: when you register you have to fill in the form to join our Association. The card cost is 10 euros.

COST OF OVERNIGHT STAY PER PERSON, including 7 days half board (breakfast and dinner), drinks excluded:

THE TEACHERS

Julio Bassan

Julio belongs to the new generation of tangueros in Buenos Aires. An extraordinary performer, he is also an excellent and thoughtful teacher, with a strong emphasis on connection, musicality, embrace, and rhythmic improvisation.

Julio is also a “National Actor” who graduated from the National University of the Arts (U.N.A), Argentina. As an actor and dancer, he has participated in various shows in Argentina, the United States, France, Ireland, Scotland, England, Spain, Mexico, Morocco, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, and China.

He has appeared in films and created choreography for cinema, advertising, and theater.

Thanks to his knowledge and experience, he has contributed to several books on dance, including: “50 Keys to Dancing Tango” by Laura Falcoff (a critic with a recognized career in dance), “Cultura Independiente” by Julieta Hantouch and Romina Sánchez Salinas, and “Tango New” by Carolyn Merritt, among others.

He coordinates popular tango events and festivals in Buenos Aires, including his own festival “Tango Estilo Parque Patricios,” recognized in Argentina as a Cultural Event of Relevance by the Ministry of Culture.

Julio is recognized nationally and internationally for his work within UNESCO as one of the representatives for the preservation of tango as intangible cultural heritage of humanity. He participated in the Inventory of the UNESCO Subregional Program for the Preservation of Tango.

Jury member and General Supervisor of the World Tango Championship, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Since 2013, he has been President of the Association of Milonga Organizers (AOM) of Argentina.

Founding member of the Advisory Board of the BAMILONGA Institute, belonging to the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Currently spokesperson for the Federal Assembly of Tango Workers, composed of 19 tango groups from all over Argentina

Monica Bozzano

Dancer and teacher of Argentine tango, she started dancing tango in 1999, after starting out in classical dance and continuing with contemporary dance.

She studied tango with the best teachers on the international scene; her deep interest in the role of women in tango leads her to study and perfect over the years with professional tango dancers of different ages and styles.

She performs in Argentine tango and dance - theater shows and organizes milongas and events.

She has been teaching Argentine tango first in Liguria and then in Turin for over twenty years. 

She also holds courses and seminars on female technique, focused on the role of women in tango.
