Mentors

Welcome! ๐Ÿ˜Š Thank you for your interest in joining the Latino Aggie Mentorship Program (LAMP) mentorship team. As a mentor, your duties include guiding, mentoring, and tutoring your mentee as well as completing the debrief form after every meeting.

In order to be a mentor, you must currently be enrolled at Texas A&M University, have at least one semester of undergraduate experience, have gotten an A or B in the subject you are trying to tutor, and be able to commit to at least two mentorship sessions a month with your mentee. By becoming a mentor, you also agree to participate in mentorship training prior to the start of the program.

After every mentoring session, please make sure to complete this debrief form. Additionally, if you are documenting volunteering hours, you must complete this form.

As a mentor, if you are confused or having difficulty with coming up with topics to discuss with your mentee, please feel free to look at our Mentor Manual provided below. The Mentor Manual discusses many different methods and topics for you to discuss with your mentee to best benefit your meetings! It is only supposed to serve as an outline for guidance, it is not mandatory to discuss all topics mentioned in the manual.
