Teaching
At Laurier, I currently teach our first-year microeconomics. In past years, I've taught upper-year electives in labour economics, public economics and introduced our course in economics and gender. Course materials can be found in our MyLearningSpace pages for each class.
I plan to teach our first-year microeconomics in Fall 2024. Course materials will be posted on our MyLearningSpace course page, which students gain access to when classes begin. For textbook information, look for our course EC120 in the WLU Bookstore, where you can find the options you need at a discount compared to other sellers.
I am a coauthor of the textbook Labour Market Economics (9th ed.) We are now working on a substantial revision for 10th edition. I'll provide links below for new materials as we get closer to publication.

I taught Labour Economics in the Fall of 2020 and created several videos and google sheets for pandemic-teaching. Other instructors may (or may not) find the following useful for their students:
Short videos to explain topics in each Chapter. (Based on the 8th edition of the text, but with some 9th edition updates) The playlist includes videos for downloading data from ODESI and how to run a simple wage regression using the Labour Force Survey in Stata.
Income maintenance programs in Canada google spreadsheet – allows students to manipulate some basic program parameters for the CWB, OAS, EI and Social Assistance, with somewhat realistic budgets involved.
Defined Benefit Pension Incentives: I created a simple example that closely aligns with a Chapter 4 Exhibit (9th edition), helping students understand how pension parameters matter for choosing a retirement age.
