About Our Beef
At Tall Meadows Angus, we believe in raising beef the right way. Our Angus cattle are born and raised right here on our family farm in Sauk County, Wisconsin, spending their lives grazing freely on our lush, green pastures. We never use added hormones, ensuring you get pure, wholesome beef. Our calves arrive between March and June, benefiting from the ideal Southern Wisconsin weather conditions, which sets them up for healthy, natural growth. This commitment to their well-being, from birth to your freezer, means you can trust the quality and taste of every cut.
To ensure the superior taste and texture our customers expect, at just under one year of age we carefully introduce premium, home grown grains to our Angus cattle's diet. This crucial step is designed to optimize their growth and, most importantly, develop the beautiful marbling that makes our beef exceptionally tender and juicy. This higher fat content isn't just for show; it's what creates that coveted rich, buttery flavor that truly sets our beef apart and is preferred by those who appreciate fine food.
Our steers are ready for market mid to late summer when they reach a weight of around 1400 lbs, which is at approximately 16 months of age. We work with a local meat processing plant that is state inspected daily and is animal welfare humane slaughter certified.
