Building Challenges To Do At Home
Use whatever materials you have (recycled objects, Legos, sticks, paper, blocks, etc.) to:
Make the tallest tower you can (measure it!)
Make a vehicle (it can float, fly, or drive)
Make a shelter you or an animal would want to live in
Design something that incorporates a simple or complex machine
Design a house that includes at least three different polygons (rectangle, square, triangle, rhombus, etc.)
Build a habitat for an animal of your choice. Make sure it has everything the animal needs to survive!
Build your favorite animal or character
Build the setting of a book, show, or movie you enjoy
Go on a Nature Hunt!
Find a rainbow
Find three different colored leaves
Find a reptile
Find an insect
Find a natural water source
Identify what clouds are in the sky
Find something from nature for each of the colors of the rainbow
Find an example of erosion
Find a rock or a mark in a tree that is shaped like something (example a heart, a bird, etc)
Find three kinds of birds
Look for animal tracks (hoof prints, paw prints, slime trail)
What is the biggest living thing you see outside? What is the smallest?
