This was a project I have been working on with one of my students over several months. This particular student was working on improving their writing skills.
Firstly we wrote the story, then improved it using different parts of speech. We designed the front cover and came up with a title page. We wrote the story in the book and printed off relevant pictures for each page.
Next, we designed a publisher logo, wrote a blurb on the back, added a review and drew a bar code. We had extra pages at the end of the book so decided to create creatures for the island described in the book with special names.
After this we wrote 3 different types of poems (rhyming, acrostic and free verse).
There was an enormous amount of work put into this project!
*Rhyming - A poem where some of the words at the ends of lines sound the same.
*Acrostic - A poem where the first letters of each line spell a word.
*Free Verse - A poem that doesn't have to rhyme or follow a set rhythm.
This child, inspired by a book he knew, decided to create his own version of Winnie the Pooh.
During Lockdown these students created a lovely drawing of a letter which I then put together to make my slogan 'Make Learning Fun!' This kept them entertained for a while. 😁
