The Taleemi Wazaif stipend is paid every quarter, which means once every three months. The amount a family receives depends on two things: the child's level of education, and whether the child is a boy or a girl. Girls usually receive a slightly higher amount, because the program aims to reduce dropout rates among girls.
Primary: paid quarterly, girls receive a higher amount
Secondary: paid quarterly, girls receive a higher amount
Higher Secondary: paid quarterly, may include a completion bonus
Stipend amounts are revised by the government from time to time, and outdated figures cause confusion for parents. Instead of printing numbers that may change, we keep this page general. You can check the latest updated stipend amounts here.
Payments are usually made to the mother or the registered female guardian. Money is collected from designated banks, ATMs or BISP payment points, where the guardian's identity is confirmed through biometric verification. Always bring your original CNIC when collecting payment, and count the full amount before leaving the counter.
Attendance: the stipend is linked to regular school attendance, commonly stated as at least 70% per quarter
School records: if the school does not submit attendance records on time, that quarter's payment may be delayed
BISP status: if the family's Kafaalat status changes, the education stipend can also be affected
Incorrect details: wrong school name, class or child records can hold up a payment until they are corrected
First, check your child's attendance record with the school, since low attendance is the most common reason. Then visit your nearest BISP office with your original CNIC and the child's B-Form, or dial 8171 for help. Never pay an agent who claims they can "release" your payment, because payments cannot be released this way and this is a common scam.
