Plants pay attention to different internal activities during different times of the day. But if a tree standing right next to a lit street is constantly exposed to bright light, its circadian rhythm (the rhythm of night and day) will be broken and the plant will end up confused, resulting in it either overworking itself or not being able to perform tasks efficiently. Continuous bright light may also confuse plants into extending the process of photosynthesis, causing them to run out of energy and acquire less amount of rest. Â
