TailsHug (“TailsHug”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains what information we collect when you visit or use our website www.tailshug.com, mobile application, or any related communication tools (collectively, the “Platform”), how we use that information, and under what circumstances we may share it while you use our pet-care marketplace and related services (“Services”).

1. INFORMATION COLLECTION SOURCES
Information Collected Directly: TailsHug collects personal information from both pet service providers (such as groomers, boarders, trainers, walkers etc.) and pet parents who use the Platform to find or request those services. To access certain features of our Platform like posting services, sending or receiving requests, participating in surveys, or submitting feedback, you’ll need to create an account. The exact information we collect depends on how you use TailsHug.
Pet Parents (Consumers):
During account setup, we collect basic details such as your name, your pet(s) details, phone number, email address, and PIN or ZIP code. You may also choose to provide your address, and optional demographic details of you and your pet(s) (for example, gender, age, or interests). In addition, any information you include in your profile, booking requests, reviews, feedback, or public posts (like in discussion forums or chats) may also be collected and stored as part of your account activity.
Service Providers (Pet Professionals):
When you register as a pet service provider, we collect your name, business or brand name, contact number, service location, travel preferences, profile headline, service descriptions, and email address. You may also add photos, videos, and other optional details to help showcase your services. For payment purposes, we may collect billing and payout-related information such as your bank or UPI details, or limited card data processed through trusted payment partners.
In certain cases, and where legally permitted, we may also verify your identity or background by obtaining additional information from third-party sources such as identity validation or KYC checks to help maintain the safety and integrity of the TailsHug community.
Information Collected from Social Media Accounts: You may choose to sign in or connect to TailsHug through third-party social platforms such as Facebook, Google, or Apple. When you do this, you authorise TailsHug to access certain basic information from your linked account for example, your name, profile picture, email address, date of birth, and any other details you’ve made visible according to your social account settings.
If you grant permission, this data will be shared with TailsHug and combined with the information you provide directly on the Platform to create or update your account.
Please note that platforms like Facebook or Google control the information they collect and share. Their use of your data is governed by their own privacy policies, not TailsHug’s. We do not control how these third parties manage or disclose your information.
Automatic Data Collection, Cookies, and Tracking Technologies: TailsHug collects certain information automatically when you access or use our Platform or Services. Some of this information is gathered through cookies, analytics tools, or other similar technologies to help us improve functionality, security, and user experience.
You provide personal data to TailsHug voluntarily when using the Platform, and by doing so, you consent to the collection of such data as described below.

Location Data: With your permission, TailsHug may collect your device’s approximate or precise location using your IP address or mobile GPS. This helps us show nearby services or personalise your experience. You can manage or disable location access anytime in your device settings.
Interaction Data: We collect information about your activity on the Platform, such as searches, viewed listings, bookings, chats, and interactions with posts or reviews. This allows us to tailor recommendations and improve the relevance of your experience.
Log and Technical Data: Even if you don’t create an account, we may collect technical details like device identifiers, access times, crash logs, and cookie data to maintain platform integrity, detect misuse, and ensure smooth operation.
Cookies: Cookies are small text files stored on your browser or device that help us recognise you, remember preferences, and analyse usage. Some cookies are essential for site operation, while others help improve performance or personalise content. We may also allow third-party cookies (e.g., Google Analytics or ad measurement tools) in accordance with this Policy and those third parties’ privacy terms.

Pixels and Beacons: We and select partners may use small graphic files (known as pixels, web beacons, or clear GIFs) to monitor engagement, track campaign performance, or understand how our emails and notifications are opened or shared.
Payment Information: When you make or receive payments on TailsHug, we collect transaction-related details such as payment amount, date, payment method, billing address or PIN, and limited instrument identifiers (like the last four digits of your card or UPI ID). All sensitive payment data is securely processed through verified third-party gateways; TailsHug does not store full card or bank credentials.
2. USE OF INFORMATION COLLECTED BY TAILSHUG
We use the personal and aggregated data we collect to understand your needs, operate effectively, and enhance your overall experience on the Platform. Specifically, TailsHug may use your information for purposes such as:
Providing Services: To create and manage your account, verify your identity, and deliver all Platform features and pet-care services you request.
Customer Support: To respond to your queries, handle concerns, and offer timely assistance.
Payments & Billing: To process transactions, issue invoices, and work with trusted third-party payment partners to facilitate secure payments or payouts.
Improvement & Maintenance: To analyse how users interact with the Platform (such as searches, page views, and preferences) so we can optimise performance, fix technical issues, and introduce useful features.
Communication: To contact you by email, phone, or in-app notifications about your bookings, account activity, or services you’ve requested.
Marketing & Promotions: To send occasional updates, offers, or announcements about new TailsHug features or partnerships that may interest you. You can opt out anytime.
Research & Personalisation: To customise the Platform experience according to your preferences, location, and interests.
Compliance & Security: To prevent fraud, resolve disputes, protect community safety, and enforce our Terms of Use.
Data Verification & Aggregation: To verify information accuracy, cross-check with lawful third-party sources, and use anonymised or aggregated data for analytics and insights.
3. OTHER USE OF INFORMATION
At our discretion, TailsHug may offer optional features that help you stay connected and share feedback. Some of these may require basic personal information to function properly.
Newsletters: TailsHug may provide free newsletters or updates about pet care, new services, or special offers. If you choose to subscribe, we’ll collect your email address for our mailing list. You can unsubscribe anytime by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link in our emails or by adjusting your preferences in your account settings.
Refer a Friend: Our Platform may include a “Refer a Friend” or “Share” feature that lets you send a link or service listing to someone you know. To do so, you may need to enter your email and the recipient’s email address. This information is used only to send your referral or notify you of delivery issues. It isn’t stored or used for any other purpose.
Polls: We may occasionally conduct quick polls to understand community opinions on pet-related topics, Platform features, or services. Responses are collected anonymously or aggregated and are not linked to individual users. Any tags used to prevent duplicate voting are non-identifiable.
Surveys: TailsHug may also conduct user surveys to improve our offerings and understand preferences. Responses are analysed in aggregate form and may be shared with trusted partners for insight and research purposes. Individual responses are never disclosed publicly.
4. DEMOGRAPHIC PRIVACY
TailsHug’s Platform and Services are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under this age. If we learn that we have inadvertently received such data, we will promptly delete it from our systems.
5. SECURITY
TailsHug employs industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encryption, secure servers, limited-access systems, and regular security reviews.
While we strive to safeguard your information, no online platform can guarantee complete security. We encourage you to protect your account by using strong passwords, keeping your login details confidential, and signing out after using shared devices.
TailsHug will not be responsible for any unauthorised access arising from compromised passwords, devices, or negligence on the user’s part.
6. SHARING INFORMATION
TailsHug may disclose your personal information only when necessary to operate effectively, deliver Services, comply with legal obligations, or protect our community.
Protection and Legal Compliance to:
Prevent or respond to an emergency;
Protect the rights, property, or safety of TailsHug, our users, or the public;
Enforce our Terms of Use or other agreements; or
Comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal requests.
Third-Party Service Providers and Partners: We partner with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Platform such as payment processors, hosting providers, analytics partners, and customer support tools. These vendors are given access only to the data necessary to perform their specific functions and are required to keep it secure and confidential. For instance, payment details are handled through authorised gateways and not stored by TailsHug.
Sharing to Fulfil Service Requests: When you post or request a service, we may share limited information (such as your first name, location, or request details) with relevant third-party platforms or partners to increase visibility. Users who express interest will be directed back to the TailsHug Platform, where they can view your listing and contact details as permitted.
Visibility to Other Users: Information you share publicly such as your profile, service listings, reviews, and photos, is visible to other users of the Platform.
For service providers: your business information, service description, pricing, and location will be publicly available.
For pet parents: your first name, initial of your last name, and service request details may be visible to potential providers.
Phone numbers and full names are shared only after a confirmed booking, for coordination and service delivery.
Law Enforcement and Legal Requests: We may share user data (including name, contact details, booking history, and complaints) when required by law, regulation, or a valid government inquiry.
Business Transfers: If TailsHug undergoes a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the successor entity as part of that transaction. In such cases, your information will continue to be protected under this Policy or a substantially similar one.
At Your Direction: We may share your information with another user or third party when you explicitly consent or request us to do so for example, when finalising a service booking or inviting another user to connect.

The TailsHug Platform may include links to third-party websites or external resources that are not operated or controlled by TailsHug. These links are provided solely for your convenience and do not imply endorsement, partnership, or responsibility for those websites.
Please note that once you leave the TailsHug Platform, any information you share is governed by the privacy policies and terms of use of that external site. TailsHug is not responsible for the protection, collection, or use of data on such third-party websites. We encourage you to review the privacy statements of any external sites you visit.
8. MANAGING, UPDATING, AND DELETING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
You have control over your personal information shared on TailsHug.
You can review, update, or correct your details anytime by logging into your account and visiting the “My Profile” section. It’s your responsibility to keep this information accurate and current.
If you wish to delete or deactivate your account, you can submit a request to us. Once verified, we will close your account and remove your information from public view as soon as reasonably possible, in accordance with applicable law.
TailsHug may, however, retain certain information from closed accounts where necessary to:
Comply with legal or regulatory obligations,
Resolve disputes,
Prevent fraud or abuse,
Enforce our Terms of Use, or
Maintain records consistent with legitimate business needs.
Please note that public posts such as service listings, reviews, or comments may remain visible or cached even after account deletion, and TailsHug is not responsible for content retained outside our control.
9. User’s control on “The Use of Personal Information”
TailsHug may occasionally send you emails or in-app messages containing updates, offers, or information that we believe may interest you. You can opt out of receiving such promotional communications at any time by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link in the email or by adjusting your preferences in your account settings.
Please note that processing your request to opt-out may take up to 10 business days. Even if you unsubscribe from marketing messages, we may still contact you for non-promotional purposes — for example, to confirm bookings, send payment receipts, or notify you about important account or service-related updates.
10. THIRD-PARTY ADVERTISING AND ANALYTICS
TailsHug may work with third-party advertising networks and analytics providers to display ads and measure performance across various platforms. These partners may use cookies, pixels, or similar tracking technologies to understand your preferences, display relevant ads, and assess the effectiveness of campaigns.
Such third parties may collect limited, non-identifiable data about your interactions with our Platform and other websites or apps you visit. These technologies are governed by the privacy policies of the respective third parties, not TailsHug’s.
We may also share anonymised or aggregated information with our advertising and analytics partners to help improve relevance and overall user experience.
11. ACCOUNT IDENTITY AND USE OF INFORMATION
Display Name and Visibility: When you register on TailsHug, you’ll select a Display Name that will appear across your activity on the Platform. Certain other users such as those you interact or transact with, may see your name and related activity (for e.g, booking confirmations, cancellations, or offers). If you choose to use your real name as your Display Name, other users you engage with may be able to personally identify your activities on TailsHug.
Use of Other Users’ Information: TailsHug enables users to share limited personal details when engaging in pet-care services. By entering into a booking or service agreement with another registered user, you may need to share contact information such as your name, phone number, or service address to complete the booking safely. You agree to use another user’s information only for:
completing or managing transactions initiated on TailsHug, and
purposes directly related to TailsHug’s services.
Respecting the privacy of other users is mandatory. Any misuse, marketing outreach, or unrelated communication using such data is strictly prohibited.
Account and Password Security: Your password is the key to your TailsHug account. Choose a strong password using a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols, and do not share it with anyone. You are solely responsible for any activity conducted through your account.
If you suspect that your password or account has been compromised, you must immediately notify TailsHug at tailshug25@gmail.com so we can assist you in securing your account.
12. USER-GENERATED CONTENT
TailsHug allows users to share content such as photos, reviews, feedback, listings, and comments on the Platform. Please note that any information or media you post becomes publicly accessible and may be viewed, shared, or used by others outside TailsHug’s control.
By posting on the Platform, you acknowledge that such content is shared at your own discretion and risk. TailsHug cannot guarantee how other users or third parties may use or distribute the information you make public, even if it violates this Policy or applicable law. We encourage you to share responsibly and avoid posting personal or sensitive information.
13. POLICY UPDATES
This Privacy Policy is effective as of the date stated above. TailsHug may update or modify this Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal obligations.
Whenever updates occur, we will revise the “Effective Date” and post the new version on this page. We encourage you to review this Policy regularly. Your continued use of the Platform after any updates signifies your acceptance of the revised Policy.
