Pinewood Branch

"Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence." - Vince Lombardi

Mission of the project

The goal of Teens Against E-waste as a whole is to help protect our planet Earth by  collecting used batteries and bringing them to recycling centers. The goal of Pinewood Branch specifically is to  help collect any used batteries around the Cypress community and  the neighbourhood. By  helping  to reduce the e-waste that humans  leave behind, the planet  will be healthier  and  in turn, protect all of human life.

Protect the Earth!

Earth is the only current place that humans can live on, and by not recycling batteries or e-waste, it is hurting the planet. If we, as humans, don't stop wrecking the planet, soon, there won't be anywhere for us to live.

Follow the Law!

Did you know it is illegal to throw away any batteries in California? Recently, laws have been put in place so that anybody who just throws away batteries into trash cans without properly disposing them, they are susceptible to being arrested. You can stop this by taking your batteries to recycling centers, or put in them in battery collection centers.

Resource Conservation

Batteries are created using very valuable natural resources that have not yet been replicated anywhere else. Since humans have not developed the technology to duplicate these resources yet, by throwing away these batteries, people are wasting finite, precious, resources. Instead, by recycling these batteries, these resources can once again be used in other ways.

Energy Efficient

By helping recycle batteries, people are also saving other people time. Recycling batteries is way easier and more energy efficient than having to manufacture a whole new battery. Recycling these batteries reduces the demand for new materials and also, any associated energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
