In early 2022, while restoring a Philips Plano B5X23A radio, I needed to perform FM alignment, which requires a high-frequency RF signal generator
I found this Eico 324 on Markplaats for merely 10 euros. I drove to the countryside to pick it up. After bringing it home, I found that the controls were rusty and most of the capacitors and resistors, which were still original, had gone bad and had to be replaced. This thing must have been sitting in a barn for a long time.
I have recapped it, replaced resistors, and replaced the half-wave selenium rectifier by a diode + voltage-dropping resistor.
After realignment, it's now working perfectly.
