The California International Studies Project promotes global education through high quality, standards-based, and interdisciplinary professional learning programs for educators in California. CISP collaborates with teachers, schools, districts, and education partners committed to developing global competence, which includes curiosity, creativity, empathy, integrity, and active citizenship, in PK-12 students.

    • World Savvy Festival May 18th in SF, Oakland. To take this path, you need to register for the World Savvy Classrooms Program. All the dates and more information are on our shared calendar.
    • One Planet Youth Summit Late April (date TBD) in Rohnert Park, CA. One Planet Schools and Credo High School students organize this Youth Summit/Conference for teachers and students in and around the North Bay. Students present their learnings from One Planet-aligned action projects, and also gain new skills through hands on workshops with community organizations. Last year, there were 10 community organizations hosting workshops! Check out the One Planet Youth Summit Facebook Page for videos and more information. Marika Ramsden, One Planet Schools Director, hosts a monthly One Planet Educator's Network (OPEN) for educators who are interested in idea exchange leading up to the Youth Summit.     • DIY Youth Summit or Showcase. Please contact mazzeo@sonoma.edu if you are interested in finding creative ways to host a showcase at your school or in your community. This path takes a lot of coordinating efforts, but it can be done! Last year, a teacher in Humboldt County, Tara Katjaniak, organized a regional Youth Summit in a span of a few months at Humboldt State.
