Dear SysMus community,
Have you always wanted to organise a conference? We're currently looking for hosts for SysMus25!
We encourage interested parties to submit a proposal to host the International Conference of Students of Systematic Musicology in 2025 and build on over fifteen years of SysMus conferences run by students and for students of Systematic Musicology and related disciplines. SysMus provides an opportunity for early-stage researchers to network and practise presenting their work to a friendly audience of their peers.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience in conference planning, and the SysMus Council and Executive Committee will help by providing support and guidance to the local organising committee.
If you'd like to apply to host this fantastic conference, please submit a short proposal to sysmus.executive@gmail.com that presents your vision for SysMus25 and covers the following:
· Proposed venue
· Proposed dates
· Available human resources (i.e. a hosting committee, volunteers, etc.)
· Demonstrate available research group resources (i.e. AV/other specialized equipment, research expertise, supervision, etc.)
· Demonstrate potential financial resources
· Answer to the following questions:
o What will make you a good conference director?
o Why would you like to host a SysMus conference?
For further guidance with applications, previous successful proposals can be found on our website (https://sites.google.com/view/sysmus/links/previous-host-applications)
The deadline for proposals is 01 February 2024. We look forward to receiving your proposals!
