Having Synchro in the Olympics will give Synchro a bigger audience. This will help to evaluate the sport because it will be recognized by outside people as a legitimate sport. (Typically sports are only considered sports when they are in the Olympics.) This will help synchronized ice skaters gain the respect they deserve for the work that they put into synchro.

Synchro is the only sport where the gender of the athlete does not matter. Although it is a female dominated sport, anyone regardless of prefered pronouns can join a Synchro team. This is a unique part of Synchro that no other sport has.

Every year the International Olympic Committee meets to discuss and finalize decisions for the Olympics. The topic of Synchronized Ice Skating being added as an Olympic sport has been pushed to the next year for a few years. The purpose of this petition is to show the support Synchro has to be put into the Olympics. It is important that the IOC make the decision this year because it gives the host country (Italy) the most amount of time to prepare to host Synchronized Ice Skating.
