In addition to my science career, I am proud to play free safety and wide receiver for the New York Knockouts, a women’s tackle football team in the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) based in Albany, NY. In my rookie season, I earned the honor of being named a 2nd Team All-American. Playing for the NY Knockouts has been a life-changing experience, building a strong sense of community, accountability, and teamwork while pushing me to embrace hard work and step outside my comfort zone. It has shown me firsthand the incredible strength, resilience, and skill of women athletes.
The Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) is a groundbreaking organization that empowers women in football, with over 60 teams across the United States and leagues in eight countries. By securing contracts with ESPN2 and AWSN (All Women’s Sports Network), the WFA has taken huge strides in promoting women’s sports and giving players the platform they deserve. Programs like Gridiron Girls and women’s flag football in schools inspire the next generation of athletes and prove that women belong in every arena of sports. Supporting women’s sports is crucial—not just for leveling the playing field, but for creating opportunities for women to thrive, find their voices, and show the world what we are capable of. Playing tackle football has been an empowering journey, and I am proud to be part of the movement to elevate women in sports.
