Access to syllabus.harvard.edu is based on your Harvard School affiliation. Currently, students, faculty, and staff from FAS (College, GSAS, SEAS), GSD, GSE, HDS, HKS, HMS, and SPH have access to Syllabus Explorer. If you are not affiliated with one of those Schools, you will not have access to Syllabus Explorer. At this time, alumni also do not have access.
In creating Syllabus Explorer, permission from each participating School's leadership and faculty had to first be obtained. In agreeing to participate in the Syllabus Explorer project, the Schools decided that access should be limited to students, faculty, and staff from only the participating Schools. That means if you are from DCE, HSDM, HLS or HBS, for example, you will not have access to Syllabus Explorer. Similarly, students from other universities that are cross-registered in Harvard courses do not have access to Syllabus Explorer.
We are thrilled that Syllabus Explorer is proving to be a useful tool and we are actively working to bring this resource to more of the Harvard community. If you believe access to Syllabus Explorer would benefit you, we encourage you to voice that to your School or unit's leadership. We truly appreciate your support, as our goal is to one day allow all members of the Harvard community access to Syllabus Explorer.
If you were re-directed here and notwithstanding the above, you feel like you should have access, please email syllabus@harvard.edu.
