My commitment to my school community does not end at dismissal. I believe it is important for students and families to be able to interact with teachers outside of the normal school hours. I participate in many extracurricular events because I think is a great way to build connections with students.
I have created and supervised many clubs over the past four years, focusing on topics such as yoga, mindfulness, crafts, literacy and math support.
I volunteer at many events throughout the school year. Students love seeing me at these events and it gives me an opportunity to connect with both them and their families informally.
I have been on the committee for several large school-wide events. Most notably, I co-chaired the Read Across America committee at Tatem School during the 2017-2018 school year. My colleague and I planned a week-long celebration, as well as a school assembly.
