ครูมีบทบาทสำคัญในการพัฒนาสังคมผ่านการพัฒนามนุษย์ ด้วยการบ่มเพาะผู้คนและสร้างองค์ความรู้ ครูทั่วโลกมีพันธกิจร่วมกันในการแก้ไขวิกฤตโลกโดยการจัดการศึกษาที่ดีที่สุด เพื่อสร้างคนดี คนเก่ง และคนมีความสุขที่พร้อมเป็นทั้งพลเมืองและพลโลกที่สามารถเผชิญกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงของสังคมและโลกได้

ระดับปริญญาตรี

วิชาชีพครูเป็นวิชาชีพชั้นสูง หลักสูตรการศึกษาบัณฑิตมุ่งผลิตบัณฑิตวิชาชีพครูให้เป็นผู้มีความรู้พื้นฐาน ความสามารถ คุณธรรม จริยธรรม และจรรยาบรรณ บัณฑิตเหล่านี้จะทำหน้าที่ให้ความรู้ จัดการเรียนรู้ และเสริมสร้างนิสัยแก่เยาวชนในสถานศึกษาระดับการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐานทั่วประเทศ บัณฑิตครูต้องมีความรู้และความสามารถในการสร้างสภาพแวดล้อมที่หล่อหลอมเยาวชน เพื่อให้เกิดการเรียนรู้ที่เท่าเทียมกันตามศักยภาพของผู้เรียนแต่ละคน เพื่อการดำรงชีวิตในสังคมอย่างมีคุณภาพ

ในระดับปริญญาตรี ผู้ที่จะเป็นครูสังคมศึกษาจะได้พัฒนาความเข้าใจอย่างรอบด้านเกี่ยวกับประวัติศาสตร์ ภูมิศาสตร์ สิ่งแวดล้อม ประชากรศึกษา รัฐศาสตร์ นิติศาสตร์ สังคมวิทยา เศรษฐศาสตร์ ศาสนา และปรัชญา ผู้เรียนจะได้เรียนรู้วิธีการสอนที่หลากหลายเหมาะสมกับผู้เรียนที่แตกต่างกันในระดับประถมศึกษาและมัธยมศึกษา

ระดับปริญญาโท

หลักสูตรระดับปริญญาโทต่อยอดจากพื้นฐานที่สร้างขึ้นในระดับปริญญาตรี โดยมุ่งเน้นการพัฒนาทักษะการวิเคราะห์และความรู้เฉพาะทางในการศึกษาสังคมศึกษา นักศึกษาระดับบัณฑิตศึกษาจะได้เรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงลึก การพัฒนาหลักสูตร และแนวทางการสอนขั้นสูง ผู้เรียนพัฒนาความเชี่ยวชาญในการออกแบบสภาพแวดล้อมการเรียนรู้เชิงนวัตกรรมที่ตอบสนองต่อประเด็นและความท้าทายทางสังคมร่วมสมัย

หลักสูตรระดับปริญญาเอกเป็นจุดสูงสุดของการพัฒนาทางวิชาการและวิชาชีพในการศึกษาสังคมศึกษา ผู้เรียนปริญญาเอกทำวิจัยขั้นสูงที่สร้างองค์ความรู้ใหม่ให้กับวงการ โดยการศึกษากรอบทฤษฎี การวิเคราะห์นโยบาย และแนวทางนวัตกรรมในการเรียนการสอนสังคมศึกษา ผู้เรียนพัฒนาความเชี่ยวชาญในระเบียบวิธีวิจัยและเทคนิคการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลที่ช่วยให้สามารถแก้ไขความท้าทายทางการศึกษาที่ซับซ้อนได้

คณะสังคมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยศรีนครินทรวิโรฒ เป็นหน่วยงานร่วมผลิตครูสังคมศึกษาในทุกระดับการศึกษา โดยมีอาจารย์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญในสาขาสังคมศาสตร์เป็นผู้ถ่ายทอดความรู้ การจัดการเรียนการสอนดำเนินการร่วมกับคณะศึกษาศาสตร์ซึ่งมีความเชี่ยวชาญด้านวิชาชีพครู

Aims of Program in Social Studies Education

Foundation of Teaching Excellence

Teachers play a crucial role in developing society through human development, by nurturing people and creating knowledge. Teachers worldwide share a common mission to address global crises by providing the best education possible, to cultivate good, capable, and happy individuals who are prepared as both citizens and global citizens ready to face societal and global changes.

Bachelor's Degree Level

The teaching profession is considered a high-level profession. The Bachelor of Education program aims to produce teaching professionals who possess fundamental knowledge, capabilities, morality, ethics, and professional standards. These graduates will provide knowledge, manage learning experiences, and cultivate habits for youth in basic education schools throughout the country. Education graduates must have the knowledge and ability to create environments that shape young people, enabling equitable learning according to each student's full potential, so they can live in society with quality.

At the undergraduate level, social studies teacher candidates develop comprehensive understanding of history, geography, environment, population studies, political science, law, sociology, economics, religion, and philosophy. They learn to implement various teaching methodologies suitable for diverse learners in primary and secondary education settings.

Master's Degree Level

The Master's program builds upon the foundation established at the undergraduate level, focusing on advancing analytical skills and specialized knowledge in social studies education. Graduate students engage in deeper research methodologies, curriculum development, and advanced pedagogical approaches. They develop expertise in designing innovative learning environments that address contemporary social issues and challenges.

Master's degree candidates develop advanced competencies in educational leadership, policy analysis, and the integration of technology in social studies education. They learn to conduct action research that directly impacts classroom practice and student outcomes. The program emphasizes the development of critical perspectives on social phenomena and the ability to translate complex social theories into accessible learning experiences for students.

Doctoral Degree Level

The Doctoral program represents the pinnacle of academic and professional development in social studies education. PhD candidates engage in sophisticated research that contributes new knowledge to the field, exploring theoretical frameworks, policy implications, and innovative approaches to teaching and learning in social studies. They develop expertise in research methodologies and data analysis techniques that allow them to address complex educational challenges.

The Faculty of Social Sciences at Srinakharinwirot University is a co-producer of social studies teachers at all academic levels, with instructors who are experts in social sciences to impart knowledge. The teaching and learning process is conducted in collaboration with the Faculty of Education, which has expertise in professional teaching knowledge.

This collaborative approach ensures that graduates at all levels—bachelor's, master's, and doctoral—possess both deep subject knowledge and pedagogical expertise. They become well-rounded professionals capable of analytical thinking, synthesis, evaluation, and application of social studies concepts in diverse educational contexts. They demonstrate leadership in performing duties with a vision for developing social studies teaching and can effectively communicate social studies concepts to learners of various ages and abilities.

Across all academic levels, graduates develop increasing expertise in managing diverse social studies learning in formal, non-formal, and informal formats. They become skilled in addressing the needs of diverse students, including those with special abilities, average abilities, and special needs through innovative approaches. Most importantly, they contribute to national development in alignment with the National Economic and Social Development Plan through their roles as educators, researchers, policy advisors, and educational leaders.
