Next SWITMO Work Party will be Saturday June 1, 2024 which is National Trails Day. We will be continuing work on the PNT reroute on Blanchard Mountain. The trail is close to completion and we will be starting on the new site of the Overlook, See the image carousel in the Gallery of work we have completed.
Meeting time will be at 8:15 AM at the SWITMO storage trailer located behind IDEAL RENTAL 929E College Ave Mount Vernon. Departure for Blanchard Mountain will be 8:30 AM, arriving at the Park entrance at approximately 8:50AM. There is plenty of parking at Pinky so we car pool as much as possible.
For anyone who would like to meet us at Blanchard Mountain, below is a map from HWY 5. There are two parking lots shown on the map. Park in the upper trail parking lot and we will stop by and pick you up and give you a ride to the work site. If the upper parking lot is full, park in the lower parking lot, stand by the parking lot entrance and call 360 672 2058 to let us know you are there. You will need to have a Washington State Park Parking Pass visible in your vehicle for both parking lots.
Wear long pants, work gloves, bring lunch and have ample water to stay hydrated. The bugs are starting to get active so it is advised to have repellant. We usually work to 3 PM and back at Pinky around 4:30PM.
