This includes the rectum and appendix. The blood supply to the small & large intestine is the inferior mesentric artery and superior mesentric artery. The small intestine is apart of the digestion system. This is the long pathway your food takes. Also known as the Gastrointestinal Tract. The job of the small intestine is to break down food, absorbing nutrients and making waste.
