It all started with a blog. 

The goal: to help triathletes and late-starters swim better through swim analysis tips and instructionals. We chose the wide-eyed tarsier as our icon, to match the look of shock at some of the swim errors we've come across over the years. As for the name "swimjunkie", this was self-titled ... and self-explanatory. 

Our blog opened up opportunities we had only hoped for, not the least of which was a platform we could use to invigorate openwater swimming in the Philippines.

Now our mission is two-fold, first is to showcase the Philippines as a world-class, open water swim destination. Second, to create reasons for open water swimmers to gather and train in the first place. 

In 2014 the Philippines had just three open water races; 3 events to fill 365 days. We launched the Caramoan 7k Swim Challenge in 2015 with 150 swimmers, it was the biggest long distance open water swim gathering in well, Philippine Open Water Swimming history. There are now four (4) Swimjunkie Challenges, with attendance ranging from 150 to over 400 swimmers.
