REV. TORRES F. PERKINS, SR.
Rev. Torres F. Perkins, Sr. was born in Camden, SC. He is the oldest of three children and the son of George and Lottie Brisbon of Camden, SC and James and Carolyn Perkins of Richmond, VA. He is also the grandson of the late Rev. John Perkins and Pearl Perkins of Cassatt, SC and the late James and Mary Stuckey of Camden, SC.
Reverend Perkins is a 1985 high school graduate of Camden High School. He obtained a basketball scholarship to further his education at Clinton Jr. College in Rock Hill, SC where he majored in Business Management. He is currently continuing his education at Liberty University where he is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Christian counseling.
Reverend Perkins is married to the former Danielle Perry of Camden, SC, and they are both proud that God has entrusted them with the great responsibility of being parents and grandparents.
In 2003, Reverend Perkins answered the call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was ordained on March 8th 2015 by the Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Association. Reverend Perkins was elected as pastor of Sweet Home Baptist Church in December of 2014 and installed as pastor in 2015. He states that he is honored to serve “one of God’s greatest congregations.”
