The game where your daily shortcuts in texting may actually pay off for you. The Shortest Way to BIG $$$$$$

Concept

This game show is based on acronyms, abbreviations, and texts. Contestants must decipher acronyms to win money.

- ASAP - As Soon As Possible

- BTW - By The Way

- LOL - Laughing Out Loud

- HTTP - Hypertext Transfer Protocol

Format

1. Contestants:

 - 3 contestants are chosen from the audience.

 - The host displays an acronym on an oversized phone display.

- The category is announced (e.g., ENTERTAINMENT).

- Contestants have 6 seconds to respond. If they need a hint, they have an additional 6 seconds.

- Contestants compete to win a cash jackpot, with the two lowest scoring players being eliminated with no cash winnings

2. Gameplay:

- Audience members input their answers via monitors on their chairs or tablets.

- The fastest 3 correct answers light up, and those contestants move to the stage.

- The correct answer is displayed (e.g., CBS - Columbia Broadcasting System).

3. Contestant Seating:

- Contestants sit in oversized gaming chairs.

- For each wrong answer, the chair rises. After 4 incorrect answers, the contestant is ejected onto a slide.

- Correct answers lower the chair.

4. Audience Help:

- Contestants can ask the audience for help with a letter.

- Audience answers are displayed, and the contestant selects the correct one.

- Audience members with correct answers share the cost of the letter.

- Audience wants the contestants to buy as many letter hints as possible to increase audience winning bank.

- Audience suggests tough final category in hopes contestant will buy more letters to increase audience bank

-Regardless of contestant winning or losing, audience splits amount accumulated in their bank at the end of the show

Rounds

1. Categories:

- Contestants pick categories for rounds 1-2.

- The computer randomly picks abbreviations from a wide variety of categories for round 3 called The Tumbler of Fate.

- Contestants pick categories for rounds 4-5.

- The audience picks the category for the last round.

2. Answer Timeframe:

- Contestants have 6 seconds to answer starting in round one, increasing to 10 seconds by round 3.

- If time runs out, they can buy a hint for $250, which gives them another 6 seconds.

- Additional letters can be bought from the audience for increasing amounts, starting at $350.

Scoring

- Correct answers increase winnings by $250.

- Each round has higher stakes, with round winnings increasing from $500 to $2,000.

- Hints and letters reduce the total winnings.

Progression

- Rounds start with easier categories (2-letter acronyms) and progress to harder ones (6-letter acronyms).

Final Round

- Each contestant starts with $5,000.

- After the 5th round, the remaining contestant can either leave with half their winnings or risk doubling them in the final round.

- Correct answers in the final round allow them to qualify for the $1,000,000 Tournament of Champions.

Example Gameplay

1. Government Category:

   - Acronym: FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act)

   - Time starts: 6 seconds

   - Hint: Confidential Student Education Records ($250)

   - Buying letters: 

     - F - Family ($350)

     - E - Educational ($450)

     - R - Rights ($550)

     - P - Privacy ($650)

     - Last letter cannot be purchased

2. Timing:

   - 1st round: 6 seconds

   - 2nd round: 8 seconds

   - 3rd round: 10 seconds

   - Each round increases by 2 seconds.

Winning and Advancement

- The contestant with the least amount of winning is eliminated after 2 rounds, leaving only one final player to advance to the bonus game

- They can choose to leave with half their winnings or risk doubling them.

- Winning the 6th round doubles their winnings and qualifies them for the next show.

- Winning 3 games in a row qualifies them for the year-end Round Robin Championship.

Championship Prizes

1. 1st place: $1,000,000

2. 2nd place: $750,000

3. 3rd place: $250,000

4. 4th place: $125,000

5. 5th place: $50,000
