This applies ONLY to EXTERIOR changes to your house and landscaping. Interior changes do not require HOA-approval. Examples requiring HOA approval are, but not limited to, modifying or adding a deck, patio, walkway, pool, fence, landscaping, home addition, or new façade (stucco / siding) including color changes.
Township zoning approvals are a separate matter and you must handle this directly with West Whiteland Township.
Review the Streamlined Architectural Rules before you bother with the forms in step 2. It is a short read that will quickly provide guidance on what requires approval or is not permitted. Click here or on the image to view or download. Contact Shew Community Management at 610-431-3436 with any questions.
If you determine that use of the Architectural Change Request form is required, please follow the instructions on the first page of the form.
Forms are below and you will have to download the form to fill it out. It is strongly recommended to email the form and associated documentation. Post-Mail and Fax are available, but will take weeks longer to turnaround.
Not following architectural change rules could result in you having to deal with fees/fines and delays when it comes time to sell your house because an assessment of compliance with HOA rules is made when homes are sold.
