Minutes:

1. The meeting was called to order by James Lin on 5pm (PST).

2. James appointed Andrew as the recorder of the meeting minutes.

3. The following agendas were discussed:

   * Chu-Ching raised the issue if Brian Lin, the former but not current member, is qualified to be  elected as president for SVFDC 2021/2022.
Board unanimously allowed for Brian's election.

  * Chu-Ching suggested raising the Teacher's Appreciation Fee from $50 to $100.
Board unanimously approved.

  * What date to resume onsite dancing was discussed.
It was decided that James should announce to SVFDC members that California governor estimates that the state would reopen mid June, our target date to resume is 9/1/21.

 * Frank showed the ballot format for past SVFDC elections in a shared screen.  Some modifications need to be made for coming 2021/2022 election.
It was decided that Frank would prepare the election form and Chu-Ching would send it out to the members.

 * Board decided that membership fee for 2021/2022 term would stay the same.

4. James adjourned the meeting at 6:00pm.

Minutes:

1. The meeting was called to order by James Lin on 11:30am.

2. The board first elected James Lin as the chairperson of SVFDC board 2019-2020.

3. James appointed Her-daw as the recorder of the meeting minutes.

4. The board unanimously approved the minutes of the Board Meeting on March 1, 2019.

5. The board discussed the COVID-19 and its impacts to SVFDC earnestly.

   • James described the current virus situation.

   • Andrew indicated the Saratoga line dance group suspended their regular activity.

   • Young-chi mentioned that California Governor suggested, but not yet enforced, not to have more than 10 people (especially seniors) gathering.

   • Jack said the virus will live with us for a while, not just a few weeks. Thus, we need a policy and mechanism to decide what to do time over time.

   • Her-daw echoed James suggestion to suspend regular activity for a month. And for the month-by-month policy (i.e. review after one month).

   • Board unanimously voted to support James's suspension policy.

   • Board discussed the starting period. And decided to start this Friday March 13th, 2020.

   • Young-chi mentioned a Korean community spread due to zumba dance.

   • During the suspension period, members are not allowed to use the facility. We will try to work with the Saratoga Prospect Center to get credits for the dates we aren't using the facility (for future dates free).

   • Young-chi is to draft an email to the board by 3pm for comment. Then send out the final version on 5pm March 12 to all the members about the suspension.

Minutes:

1. Chairperson Herdaw called the meeting to order at 9:45pm. 

2. Herdaw appointed Frank as the recorder of the meeting minutes.

3. The board unanimously approved the minutes of the Board Meeting on February 17, 2018.

4. Treasurer Jennifer reports that the club financial status is very healthy.  It is estimated that the membership dues are sufficient to sustain Prospect Center rental fees for the coming year.  The board unanimously agree to maintain current membership dues at $260 per year.

5. Board discussed club annual election process and re-affirm last year's ballot format.  Specifically,
   President and Vice President are nominated by members to be on the ballot
   Teachers are voted from the list of all members
   Board members are also voted from the list of all members

6. Herdaw adjourned the meeting at 10:25 pm.

Minutes:

1. Chairperson Herdaw called the meeting to order at 9:30pm. 

2. President 張季華 is out of the country.  Vice President 邱馨儀 attends on her behalf.

3. Herdaw appointed Frank as the recorder of the meeting minutes.

4. The board unanimously approved the minutes of the Board Meeting on February 3, 2017.

5. Board commend President Yi-Fei and her team on the successful completion of the club's 30th anniversary event last April.

6. Over the phone, Treasurer Rose reports the club financial summary and forecasts a balance of $9000 at the end of this fiscal year (8/31/18).  The balance has significantly increased because of the donations from 30th anniversary event last year.   The recurring rental expense at Saratoga Prospect Center is expected to be stable in the coming year.

7. Board discussed member's proposal to set fixed date for annual welcome-party and waltz-night to ease member's travel planning.  The board concur that it is a good idea and set the general guideline as early April for Waltz Night event and mid September for Welcome Party.  The actual dates shall be decided by the administration group.

8. Board discussed member's proposal to use no-nomination format for teacher's election process.  Board believes the proposed format is a worthy effort to improve club efficiency and harmony.  Board would like to highly recommend administration group to adapt the no-nomination format in future teacher's election.  All other elections (Presidents and Board members) are to maintain current nomination and vote process.

Minutes:

1. Chairperson Herdaw called the meeting to order at 9:30pm.

2. Herdaw appointed Frank as the recorder of the meeting minutes.

3. The board unanimously approved the minutes of the Board Meeting on May 18, 2016

4. Jennifer reported our club financial summary and forecasts a balance of $3000 at the end of this fiscal year (8/31/17).  It is also noted that annual membership fee has raised from $220 to $260 to reflect the rental fee increase at Saratoga Prospect Center.

5. Board discussed a few donor-directed charitable donations.  The board unanimously approved the following donor-designated activities:  specific svfdc sponsored events and svfdc subsidiary group events.  In the event that donor does not specify any directive, the donation goes to svfdc general fund.

1. Chairperson Tony called the meeting to order at 9:30pm.

2. Tony appointed Frank as the recorder of the meeting minutes.

3. The board unanimously approved the minutes of the Board Meeting on May 22, 2015 as published on svfdc member’s website.

4. Rose reported club financial summary and forecasts a balance of $3000 at the end of this fiscal year (8/31/16).  The board is comfortable with the outlook and unanimously agreed to maintain current annual membership fee structure ($220 per year with $10 drop-in) for the next fiscal year.

5. Given various member subgroup dance activities, board also decided to consolidate four annual parties into three, namely Welcome Party, Waltz Night, and Year-End Party.

6. Board discussed member feedbacks of schedule shift (from Friday 7-9pm to Saturday 2-4pm) during summer Ramadan month last year.  The general consensus is that we shall continue with the same schedule shift arrangement.

7. Tony adjourned the meeting at 11 pm.

May 22, 2015

Proceedings:

. Meeting called to order at 10:pm by Chair, James Lin

. Treasurer Rose reported on the current membership situation and forecasted fiscal year-end balance

. President San-San presented the current and projected financials for SVFDC. Such financials reflected the projected income (based on current and projected membership) will not be sufficient to cover annual rental for the Prospect Center.  Upon discussion among the attendees, the board unanimously approved, effective September 1, 2015, to

(i) increasing annual membership from $200 to $220

(ii) increasing six-month membership to 120

(iii) increasing drop-in fee to $10

(iv) eliminating the option for month-to-month membership
