The Society of St. Vincent de Paul takes your privacy seriously.
Our new Safeguarding system and our existing membership tools necessarily store some personal information. This information is never sold or used outside the Society, and it is treated as confidential.
Further information about the privacy policies of each system:
SVDP Members Portal: typically contains your name, email address, and possibly physical address, and your role(s) within the Society. Mainly used for mailings from National, region, and sometimes local SVDP units.

VIRTUS: your training records, along with name, email address, physical address, and role in the Society.
Only SVDP administrators and VIRTUS technical staff have access to this information.
VIRTUS privacy policy (you must be logged into VIRTUS to see this).
Background check provider (such as PeopleFacts): name, physical address, date of birth, and background check results. These records are visible to only one or two SVDP administrators at the Council level and are treated with the utmost confidentiality. The background check results consist of county and federal criminal history, if any. Despite some misleading screens, a credit check is *not* run.
Privacy policy of PeopleFacts/Trak-1 (North Sound, Columbia River, Central Cascades, Olympic Peninsula District Councils). Social Security number is *not* included in these records.
Privacy policy of S2Verify (Tacoma/Pierce County District Council). Social Security number is included in these records.
It is possible to ask the background check provider for a copy of your background check.
