How to get to Kadıköy from Sabiha Gökçen Airport
The Havaş bus company runs shuttles to Kadıköy. The shuttles leave approximately every 30 minutes from the departures gate at the airport. The shuttles are white colored and parked in front of the terminal building arrivals level exit. The fee to get to Kadıköy is 10 TRY (approx. 2.5 EUR). The departure point to Kadıköy is the pier.
How to get to Kadıköy from Atatürk International Airport
The Havaş bus company runs shuttles to the sea-bus (deniz ötöbüsü) terminal in Bakırköy. The shuttles leave approximately every 30 minutes from the departures gate at the airport. There are a variety of shuttles to different destinations, but you can get assistance from the Havaş personnel at the curb to choose the right one.
The sea-bus is a fast hydrofoil ferry that is one of the most convenient methods for commuting in Istanbul. Note that most ferries go directly to Kadıköy, but a few make an intermediate stop at Yenikapı. Listen for the Kadıköy stop announcement before exiting the ferry.
Once in Kadıköy, follow these instructions to get to the Institute.
How to get to the Institute from Kadıköy
If arriving by sea-bus, walk along the shore toward the city center, and you will find the main public bus station. The 14R bus line passes near the institute. It leaves from the bus stand indicated in the map below. Information on buses' departure times and their routes can be found here.
You should ask the driver to point out either the Yalnız Selvi Yolu Caddesi or Bayrak Sokak stops. The travel time is between 50-60 minutes. If you miss these stops, do not worry: get off at the end of the line (Rasathane), and walk back along the main road for 5-10 minutes to get to the Bayrak Sokak stop.
Once you have arrived at the Yalnız Selvi Yolu Caddesi or Bayrak Sokak bus stops, follow the map below. The final goal is Kandilli Rasathanesi ve Deprem Araştırma Enstitüsü, where both the lecture hall, the cantine and the guest houses are situated. Security officers at the entrance will have the full list of paticipants, however in case of problems just call the Organizers using one of the phones from the list circulated by email.
