What if structures lived? What if our houses and offices were like trees, living beings contributing to their surroundings? Imagine a landscape-integrated building that absorbs solar energy, sequesters carbon and produces oxygen. With fresh air, flowering plants, and daylight everywhere. Soil-and-sedum roofs to absorb rain. Birds nesting and feeding amid the building's greenery. In a nutshell, a means of maintaining life that is in tune with the natural rhythms of the environment and the energies of humans and other sentient beings.

A few such structures already exist, and we should conceive a future filled with them. These structures, commonly referred to as "Green Buildings," are designed with environmental sustainability and human health in mind.  Discover more about them in this brief article.

Are you aware of the term ‘Greenwashing’?

Greenwashing refers to the deceptive practice of making exaggerated or false claims about the environmental friendliness of a product, service, company, or practice in order to appear more environmentally responsible than they actually are. The term "greenwashing" combines "green," which is often associated with environmental sustainability, and "whitewashing," which means covering up or glossing over negative information.

Environmentalism is adopted as a unique selling point and it appeals to the ecologically conscious consumer. Greenwashing is an attempt to capitalize on this increasing demand for environmentally sound products. The companies might use misleading labels, vague language, or incomplete information to give the impression that their products/services/practices are more sustainable than they truly are. This can mislead consumers into thinking they are making environmentally conscious choices when, in reality, the company's practices may still be harmful to the environment.
