Appointed by the Council
The administrator is appointed by the elected County Council, and is, by Delaware statute, the chief administrative officer of the county.
Administrator Responsibility
The County Administrator attends meetings of the County Council, prepares and submits an annual budget, and carries out the policies and laws set forth by the County Council.
In total, it is the responsibility of the County Administrator to oversee the day-to-day operations of the government, which now serves an estimated 250,000 residents, as well as millions of tourists, vacationers and guests every year.
