Dr. Willet Kempton's Map
This map shows the base elevation of 2-ft in red and 21-ft in orange.
Some may say 21-ft is very high and the sea level will not rise 21 ft for centuries. However, the flooding risks are not solely based on the elevation, but the compounded impact of lunar tides and storm surges can cause much greater risks.
Story of Nancy who lived through the storm of 1962
Nancy rowed a boat on Old Landing Road - the red dot - 60 years ago. The peninsula between Arnell Creek and White Oak Creek did not have many homes back then. Now, the whole area, even up to Love Creek, is getting filled up with ever-expanding impervious surfaces.
