Best Paper Honourable Mention in CHI 2026
I served as the first author, "Decoding Islamic HCI: What Current Patterns Reveal About Future Possibilities," which was awarded the Best Paper Honorable Mention Award (Top 5% of all submissions) in CHI 2026. This was a project in collaboration with the C2SG research lab of United International University and Brac University.
This work explores how Islamic values, epistemology, and lived practices can shape the design of technology and what it means to build more inclusive, value-centered HCI. Through a scoping review and interviews, we try to unpack what “Islamic HCI” really is and where it can go next.
I am thankful to my co-author and supervisor, Jannatun Noor, for her guidance and hard work.
Two Papers Accepted In CHI 2026!
This year (2026), two papers that I co-authored got accepted into CHI 2026. As an early-career researcher, seeing all of my papers accepted at CHI, the flagship international conference in HCI, was a deeply meaningful milestone in my academic journey. This achievement came right after undergraduate studies, which made the moment even more surreal. I am grateful to all my co-authors and my supervisor for this achievement.
Paper 1 (Lead Author): Decoding Islamic HCI: What Current Patterns Reveal About Future Possibilities
Paper 2 (Co-Author): The Digital Democracy Paradox: When Usability and Literacy Barriers Undermine Inclusive E-Government
