At BSC, I am co-developing "Energy onshore" application for Destination Earth Climate Digital Twin (Climate DT) Onshore Wind Energy case. Also, I am involved in scientific acceptance criteria of the application, its integration to the workflow of the Climate DT steaming.

The DestinE is a European Commission initiative aimed at developing a high-precision digital twin of Earth for modelling, monitoring, and simulating natural phenomena, predicting environmental changes, and supporting sustainable development.

Methodology

Mostly, our works are computational in nature. It involves the processing of data from various sources e.g. satellite remote sensing, ground based monitoring,

global climate model output etc. We usually run earth system models to understand the human influences and the interactions between the various

components (e.g. atmosphere, ocean, land, biospheres etc.) of the earth under variety of conditions.

For handling of data, we use Python, MATLAB, NCL-NCAR etc.

I have experience on working IITD-HPC, MN5 (at BSC), LUMI (CSC, Finland) facility for providing most of THE computational needs.

Ground based monitoring: IMD, CPCB Tall-Tower

Global climate model output: CMIP6

Earth system model: CESM , IFS-FESOM, IFS-NEMO, ICON (BSC, DestinE Project)
