Survival & Resistance: The Holocaust

Task

In preparation for writing your informational essay, you will learn about six people, each of them either a SURVIVOR or a RESISTER of the Holocaust. For this WebQuest, you will need to do the following:

1. Understand what a SURVIVOR and a RESISTER are and how these types of individuals usually act.

2. Watch the six featured videos on survivors and resisters of the Holocaust. As you watch, take handwritten notes in your provided Video Graphic Organizer on 1) who the videos are about and 2) what these courageous individuals did that could be seen as inspiring to others.

3. After watching all six videos and completing the graphic organizer, determine who of the six people is the most inspiring to you. Choose carefully as this individual's story will be the focus of your informational essay!

4. Read the supplemental article that corresponds with your chosen survivor or resister. As you read, find evidence that supports the following informational writing prompt: Discuss two ways in which your chosen survivor or resister's story is inspiring.

5. After finding two pieces of sufficient evidence from your article, construct your informational essay in the provided Essay Organizer Outline. Your copy of your outline is located in Google Classroom.
