%marillvibes ♫: Our first question for you asks for some backstory. Where does your current username come from, and what happened to "epicsnorlax"

#EasyOnTheHills: My current name came from an inside joke on my track team back in highschool. Our coach used to always tell us to take it easy on the hills when running so that just became the ongoing meme.

#EasyOnTheHills: I decided to ditch epicsnorlax cause my name on other stuff I used at the time was already "EasyOnTheHills", and epicsnorlax was just a random username I made when I was 13

%marillvibes ♫: Fair enough, RIP epicsnorlax, hello EasyOnTheHills :)

%marillvibes ♫: Our next question (or series of them) comes from Pants, he writes: How did you get into Survivor, and what's your favorite theme?

#EasyOnTheHills: My favorite theme is Kabaddi! I love the mechanics for attacking and defending, and team based stuff is always fun in survivor and I wish we had more of it. It's also always hype during games and there's a lot of involvement from the players which really elevates it as an experience.

#EasyOnTheHills: It wasn't until 2020 though that I actually started being active. I was looking for a chill place to hangout in when I was sick of mafia and little did I know surv was just the perfect place (and better than mafia)

#EasyOnTheHills: I was actually in survivor before it went public, I knew one of the RO's at the time and they invited me to check it out. That was almost 10 years ago now...

#EasyOnTheHills: also fun fact: I was there the moment the room actually was made public, which is a rare but really cool experience

%marillvibes ♫: Wow, you've been around for so long! Glad you stayed for the long haul, and it shows, you're RO now (grats btw)! Also I have to agree, Kabaddi can be a really fun theme.

%marillvibes ♫: Next up, your very own Co-RO PenQuin writes: What's your favorite part of Survivor as a room?

#EasyOnTheHills: We're a very welcoming place and super easy for anyone to get into. It's just the kind of place that no matter what you always want to come back to, and I think that's very rare to have in any online space.

#EasyOnTheHills: Definitely the community. Survivor has always been laid back and really fun. We have probably the best userbase on the site (no bias). We're all constantly innovating and coming up with really cool ideas for the room and it feels like everyone truly respects one another.

%marillvibes ♫: I think you're right. Survivor always has a fun community to hang out in, and it's the best part about playing.

%marillvibes ♫: PenQuin also wants to know... Are you a glizzy gobbler? If so, what are your go-to toppings?

#EasyOnTheHills: Oh I'm God's Greasiest Glizzy Gobbler... I'm either going just ketchup or chilli and cheese.

%marillvibes ♫: Oh my. Moving on from that LOL, a good question coming up. Favorite member of survivor auth (excluding yourself)?

#EasyOnTheHills: Oh man this is hard... I really love all of you guys tbh. OM is a long time homie and someone I can always go to for help. Zyg has always had my back since day 1 and really welcomed me into surv auth when I first joined the team. Rainshaft is a great friend and always helps me work through my crazy ideas.

#EasyOnTheHills: PQ is super chill and is always fun to hang out with. Para is like the room's father figure. It's really hard to just choose one but I'm going to have to go with Le'Depression (yuninokata alt).

%marillvibes ♫: Wow, didn't even make the list, time to retire /s

%marillvibes ♫: A good follow up question to that would be, did you ever think you would climb up to RO?

#EasyOnTheHills: I thought it was possible if the room ever needed another RO but was surprised it happened when it did. Though I'm glad I got it at a time when I have so many other RO's and past RO's around to help me out.

%marillvibes ♫: I personally was glad to see it, as a staff member I see all the work you put in behind the scenes too. We appreciate you!

#EasyOnTheHills: tyty

%marillvibes ♫: Now let's take a step outside of Survivor for a moment, with a few different questions. What is your most important bit of advice to anyone about life?

#EasyOnTheHills: Oh boy quite the question... There's a lot of things I could say here. Things like living you're life in a way that makes you happy or fulfilled, learning perseverance, learning how to take things slow and not overwhelm yourself, standing up for yourself, but I'm gonna talk about something that's pretty overlooked.

#EasyOnTheHills: My greatest piece of advice to everyone out there is to learn how to be peaceful, kind, and respectful. Choose your battles and do not stress yourself out over petty things. Solve conflict through non-violent and non-aggressive means and always try to de-escalate.

#EasyOnTheHills: Show kindness to those around you, this doesn't have to be in some generic way either, everyone is different and has different ways of expressing their kindness. Always treat everyone and everything around you with respect, even if you feel as though they don't deserve it.

#EasyOnTheHills: Things like anger, hatred, acts of violence, they're all things that in the end not only hurt other people, but will also come back to hurt yourself. In much the same way, peace, kindness, and respect for others will help the world around, but will also help you.

#EasyOnTheHills: So try to leave the world as a better place than how you came into it, and in the process you will become a better and happier person along the way.

%marillvibes ♫: Wow, some great advice, hope everyone at home takes something away from that.

%marillvibes ♫: Still in the outside of Survivor realm, but an easier question, what's your go-to snack?

marillvibes ♫: nacho cheese is better MyanMario wants to know if you'll share a little bit of your history in Survivor, maybe a short timeline?

#EasyOnTheHills: 2014-2019 mostly a lurker | 2020 first time as auth. Moved up to mod fairly quickly and eventually g+ | 2021-2022 despised PS, resigned at the start of 2021 giving up all my auth even g+ and legacy voice, 2023-2024 slowly started to come back until rejoining auth in May 2023 and eventually moving up to RO at the end of Jan 2024

%marillvibes ♫: Well old man, survivor wants to know: What are you most excited about now that you are Room Owner?

#EasyOnTheHills: Honestly I see it mostly as an honor to be able to lead our awesome crew. Survivor is the kind of place where anyone can contribute at any level so getting RO doesn't really mean I can do more per say, but I do have some cool ideas I'd love to implement into surv but y'all will have to wait and see what's to come
