Monday: Training Day – Fundamentals & Field Simulation

Focus: Understanding EWP assessment tools, documentation, and best practices.

8:30 AM – Classroom Session

• Introduction to EWP requirements

• Key documentation tips (photos, measurements, narrative)

• Funding expectations: Ask for the highest engineering estimate, plan for less

• Field forms and paperwork essentials
  
  

10:00 AM – Travel to Field Site

• Live practice with site assessment tools

• Mentor guidance and observation
  
  

12:00 PM – Lunch (Provided in the Field)

1:00 PM – Continue Site Assessment

2:30 PM – Return to Facility for Debrief

• Group discussion

• Feedback and lessons learned
  
  

4:30 PM – End of Training Day

Tuesday–Friday: Field Assessments & Recovery Work

Focus: Real-world site work, mentorship, paperwork completion, and statewide collaboration.

8:00 AM – Daily Kickoff at Facility

• Check-in with mentors

• Health & safety briefings

• Team assignments and daily site details
  
  

8:30 AM – Depart for Field Sites

• Assessments begin; teams may move across multiple sites as needed
  
  

12:00 PM – Lunch (Packed, Field-Based)

• Flexible timing based on team progress
  
  

12:30 PM – Resume Site Assessments

3:00–3:30 PM – Return to Facility (Flexible)

• Teams may continue fieldwork if preferred
  
  

3:00–9:00 PM – Communication Operations Center Open

• Submit paperwork (FDRs, DSRs)

• Receive feedback and troubleshooting

• iPad support and mentor guidance are available
  
  

5:00 PM – Dinner & Announcements

7:00–8:00 PM – Evening Activities

• Fishing (with license), hiking, s’mores, music, and games

• Great opportunity for peer bonding and relaxation
  
  

Note:
Teams and mentors can determine their preferred paperwork review schedule. Paperwork can be submitted any time between 3:00 and 9:00 PM. Check-ins and prep for the next day are coordinated team by team. We realize that folks may want to depart a little early on Friday, so we are planning to end before 5 PM so that folks can be traveling back. Finalizing the end time, we are now expecting to release folk around 12:00 PM.
