Most phone networks work in Morocco and teh coverage is excellent. It is a good idea to contact your mobile phone operator before travelling to make sure that you can use your phone in Morocco and to avoid excessive charges. Otherwsie, you can buy a local simcard for about 30 Dirham at any shop nearby. There is also free wifi available for you to use at the surf house.
Weather
Tamraght is a real gem when it comes to weather. The area experiences sunshine for about 330 days in a year, which means that almost every day is sunny. During the coldest months, which are from December to February, the days are usually sunny and warm but it can be a bit chilly in the mornings and evenings.
Clothes
Morocco is a liberal Muslim country and men and women are welcome to wear shorts and t-shirts. In terms of cultural considerations, it is respectful to dress modestly when in public places, this means covering your shoulders and knees, especially when visiting mosques or other religious sites. Swimming costumes and bikinis are fine to wear at the beach. During mid-winter (Dec-Jan) the evenings can be chilly, so it's a good idea to bring a few warmer clothes (such as trousers and a jumper) to keep you warm. You should bring a beach towel, as well as sunscreen, a swimsuit, a pair of flip-flops, sunglasses and a hat.
Voltages and plugs
Morocco is on 220 volts with two-pin round plugs.
Tap water
Moroccan tap water is drinkable but we do not recommend drinking our tap water if you are not used to it. Bottled water is very affordable and there are many shops in the area where you can buy it.
What is the local currency?
Our currency is the Moroccan Dirham.
How and where can I change and get money?
We recommend that you use the exchange facilities and ATMs in the airport. There are also plenty of ATMs in Agadir.
