The SURFCE group focuses on the application of in situ and operando surface-sensitive characterisation to unravel the surface structure-performance relations in thermo- and electro-catalysts. By leveraging these fundamental insights, we aim to rationally design and engineer catalysts to improve their performance in synthesising and valorising small molecules derived from renewable feedstocks.
