Professor Chongrak Polprasert, Ph.D.

Prof. Chongrak Polprasert is an esteemed environmental engineering scholar with expertise in wastewater treatment, solid waste management, and environmental health. Over decades, he has significantly advanced sustainable development in Thailand and globally. His research, published in numerous scientific journals, positions him as a leading authority. Prof. Polprasert advises governmental and non-governmental organizations on environmental policies and strategies, sought after by international agencies. His pioneering contributions have earned him acclaim worldwide, inspiring future generations in the field.

Professor Futaba Kazama

Prof. Futaba Kazama is a retired faculty member of the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences and the former Deputy Director of the International Research Centre for River Basin Environment at the University of Yamanashi, Japan. She earned her doctoral degree in engineering from Hiroshima University, Japan, in 1989. Currently, she leads a project dedicated to enhancing water safety in developing nations, encompassing both research and community engagement, with a focus on environmental and scientific literacy education.

Miss Chochoe Devaporihartakula

Programme Manager at Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES)

Ms. Chochoe Devaporiharakula, a dedicated Programme Manager at the Asian Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Network (AECEN), champions enhanced compliance with environmental regulations across 18 Asian countries. Her role includes overseeing the regional marine debris/plastic pollution portfolio at the IGES Regional Centre.

Simultaneously, she contributes her expertise as a Training Event Specialist at the Asian Institute of Technology, extensively focusing on climate change capacity building and knowledge sharing among stakeholders in Asia and the Pacific. Previously, she served as a Programme Associate at the USAID Adapt Asia-Pacific, fostering climate change adaptation projects, and as a consultant for UNDP, orchestrating capacity building initiatives for government officials in the Asia-Pacific region.

She holds a Master of Science in Energy Technology and Management from Chulalongkorn University, specializing in plastic waste management. Chochoe's passion resonates in environmental safeguards, solid waste management, plastic pollution mitigation, communication strategies, and knowledge outreach.
