This section presents some of the teaching experiences that colleagues and I have implemented in the Mechanics of Solids and Statics courses at UIS. Please feel free to contact me at josbenro@uis.edu.co for more details. Below you can find some videos I have prepared for my Statics and Mechanics of Solids courses:
Undergrad students conducted torsion experiments using an in-house designed and built torsiometer that allowed them to determine the shear modulus of several materials. The displacement data was captured using cell phones. The students post-processed the data using a Digital Image Correlation free software (GOM Correlate). The best works were selected to participate in the 2020 Encuentro Internacional de Educación en Ingeniería ACOFI.
