Every other year a group of students and adults from Superior/Douglas County visits Ami-machi for a week of cultural enrichment and fun. Students stay with host families, and have the opportunity to visit unique sites, try new food, and make new friends. The next delegation will visit Japan in 2024. Chaperones are needed for the Student Delegation to lead students in preparing for the trip, and providing supervision while they are there. These are usually parents of student delegates, or members of the community with an interest in supporting international exchange opportunities for local youth. Student and Adult delegations from Ami-machi visited Superior in August 2025, and the next delegation will visit Superior in the summer of 2027. Here is how you can get involved:
Apply to be a host family for one of the student delegates for one week.
Help out with activities for the adult or student delegates during their visit.
