The Superior Art Department promotes the artistic and creative intellectual development of our high school students by having fun as community members, engaging in conversation about creativity, and exploring media and its uses.
We support participation in school or athletic events and community projects, and teach students how to execute their ideas.
Filling a huge need at the school, the Art Department is able to generate art-appreciating citizens with the enjoyment of creating authentic skilled artworks as well as just for fun crafts and keepsakes. We require donations, recyclables, group involvement, and student volunteer efforts to ensure our room can function for the 2 art rooms and dynamic projects we execute.
We serve as an artistic resource room for leadership, school functions, teachers, student groups, and students working on projects both during and outside classroom hours.

ARTWORK:
My works include the following mediums:
watercolor, pencil, ink, wax, wood, and vellum and acrylic paint and clay
Animals, the plains, and rural areas have played a key role in my subject matter for years. The style of my drawings and prints are very shape heavy. I enjoy the process of taking my black and white photos, sketches, and drawings and breaking the images down to their basic shapes and composition for printmaking and painting. I also use these images to create abstract and unusually shaped ceramic vessels and containers.
I have been teaching and creating art professionally for 15 years.
