Undoubtedly, modern life increasingly demands more competitive individuals in all areas of domestic and international activity. The knowledge of other languages constitutes an essential aspect of our professional, educational and social development.
For that reason, the basis of our classes are the following principles and pathways of the process of teaching/learning:
Flexibility in managing time and putting into practice what each student needs.
Balanced development of the four fundamental linguistic skills: listening. reading, oral expression, and written expression.
Classes based on interactive communications from the first moment.
Classes grounded in thoughtfulness, creativity and a sense of humor.
Homework as an indispensable element for consolidation of the learning process.
Combining specifically-created materials with spontaneous improvisation.
The student as “maker” of his/her own learning can contribute significant ideas to the process that can be taken into account.
LIVE OR ONLINE CLASSES?
Personally, I love in-person classes because they have the “magic” of face-to-face communication as the most genuine and familiar form of interchange between humans. But taking into consideration the pace of real life, online classes can be much more useful: the communication seems face-to-face even through a screen. This will not amount to an obstacle if on one side is an engaged student, and on the other is a competent mentor.
Just as important is that both parties have the same support materials to achieve effective learning.
The professor has a large experience in both online and TV lessons, since during more than one year she taught Italian language on the Cuban TV educative program of national reach Universidad para Todos (University for All).
THE CLEAR ADVANTAGES OF ONLINE LEARNING ARE:
• Saving travel time.
• It’s possible to take a class from the convenience of home or office.
• It’s possible to take a class from anywhere in the world.
• The student doesn’t have to miss a class while traveling.
• It is possible to share the class with more than one student.
