Welcome!

I am an Associate Professor in Department of Mathematics at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), South Korea. My research interests focus on developing and analyzing statistical models and methods that can be used for big data problems. I also develop computational and statistical tools for large-scale genomic data analysis and integration to uncover biological mechanisms of diseases and traits.

In 2014, I received my Ph.D. in Statistics at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, co-advised by Jason P. Fine and Yufeng Liu. I did my postdoctoral training at University of Wisconsin Madison under Sunduz Keles from 2014-2017, and then worked in Department of Mathematical Sciences at University of Texas at Dallas as an Assistant Professor from 2017-2022. My bachelor's degree in Statistics and Economics and master's degree in Statistics are from Seoul National University.
