With a combined 36 years in public education, we’ve seen firsthand how today’s girls are growing up in a world that asks a lot of them - emotionally, socially, and mentally. We created Sunshine Studios to be a space where girls can thrive, not just survive, by building the tools they need to grow strong from the inside out.
Our workshops and programs are designed to help girls develop:
Self-confidence and a positive mindset
A strong mind-body connection
Healthy communication and conflict resolution skills
Awareness of how social media impacts the brain
Emotional resilience through real-life ups and downs
And more!
Our goal is to provide a supportive foundation where girls feel seen, celebrated, and empowered to navigate life with authenticity, adaptability, and purpose. Each workshop includes a craft that attendees get to take home with them as a reminder of the beauty and strength within themselves.
We’re proud to serve the girls and families of Fuquay-Varina and surrounding communities, and we’re just getting started. 💛
Hello! I’m a passionate educator with over 20 years of experience in Career and Technical Education, currently serving as a Career Development Coordinator at Fuquay-Varina High School. I support students as they explore their post-secondary pathways and help guide them toward brighter futures.
My professional strengths are rooted in relationship-building, program development, and helping young people build the resilience, leadership skills, and career awareness they need to thrive in today’s world. Whether in schools or at Sunshine Studios, I love helping young people connect with their strengths and step into their potential.
I live in Fuquay-Varina with my husband, who serves in the National Guard, and our three amazing kids. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, decorating, exercising—and yes, a little shopping too!
I’m honored to be part of Sunshine Studios and excited to help empower the next generation with heart, creativity, and purpose.
Hi! I’m a wife, mom, teacher, and textbook author with a passion for helping young people grow into confident, resilient adults. I’ve spent the last 14+ years teaching Family and Consumer Sciences - 13 of them at Fuquay-Varina High School, where I currently teach in the Counseling and Mental Health and Early Childhood Education pathways.
Mental health and emotional growth are at the heart of everything I do. Building relationships with students is my favorite part of teaching, and I bring that same connection-focused approach to every Sunshine Studios workshop.
I live in Fuquay-Varina with my husband (who also works and coaches at FVHS; go Bengals!) and our two young boys. Outside the classroom, you’ll find me writing, reading, going on walks around town, attending local events, or leading activities with my school club, FCCLA. I’m also the author of a parenting textbook and the co-author of a child development textbook - both created to support the next generation of educators and caregivers.
I’m so excited to be on this journey and to help spread a little sunshine in our amazing community!
