We care deeply for our animals and make sure they are living a happy and healthy life. Our chickens are free to roam their properties and our pigs live in a large pen, but soon to be a 16'x8' pig tractor that brings them to a new plot of land every few days!

We love the Earth and recognize the wasteful industries of the world. We work to reduce food and material waste by partially feeding our animals local food waste and asking our customers to return their egg cartons so we can re-use them. Our community members support our efforts to reduce food waste, so we owe a huge thanks to Vindeket Foods, Costco, Starry Night Espresso Cafe, many families' households, and elementary schools. We also have 3 large compost piles that eat whatever the animals don't!
We also offer bicycle-powered egg delivery!
We are one of very few countries who require eggs to be washed in order for them to be sold at a grocery store or restaurant. Eggs have a natural protective layer called the bloom that prevents bacteria from entering the egg. Once the egg is washed this bloom is destroyed and the egg is more vulnerable to bacteria. Unwashed eggs can live on your counter for up to 4 weeks, and in your refrigerator for up to 4 months. When we do get dirty eggs, we will wash them with warm water and they immediately go into the fridge.
