Bio

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at Korea University in the Republic of Korea. Before joining Korea University, I held tenure-track faculty positions in the Department of Health Management and Policy at Drexel University in the United States and in the Department of Health Convergence at Ewha Womans University in the Republic of Korea.

Research Overview 

I am a health economist and health services researcher whose work focuses on five main areas: 

• Evaluating the value of health care by considering both costs and outcomes

• Examining innovative payment and care delivery models, particularly value-based care

• Assessing the role of social services and the integration of social determinants of health into care models to improve health

• Analyzing the performance of health systems across countries, especially among OECD member nations

• Exploring the use of technology in health care, with a particular interest in artificial intelligence

• BA in both economics and financial engineering from Korea University (Republic of Korea)

• MPH from Kyoto University (Japan)

• PhD in health services research from University of Washington (United States)
